Women Deliver—in partnership with IISD and NAP Global Network—published this research report in early 2021 to explain the connection between climate change and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
I created the design for the report, all the way from concept to final execution. The report is meant to have a ‘global’ feel, so I mostly avoided imagery of people, and instead focused on a theme of topographic maps to give the report a visual theme that didn’t rely on direct iconography. I pulled photographs that would portray climate change while deliberately avoiding traumatic imagery of devastation. All photos are pulled from open source Flickr accounts, Unsplash, or directly from the Women Deliver photo library (all photo credits are noted by, or on, the photograph). Some photos are laid out in a way to break up similar page layouts, and others are manipulated into amorphous shapes meant to mirror the shapes of the topographic maps throughout the report.
I also created social media assets heralding the release of the report, using similar photo treatments and topographic designs.
